Portland, TN. - Donna Elaine Koontz, age 64, passed away Thursday May 1, 2025, surrounded by Family. Born May 27th, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas to Daniel Johnson and Betty Lee Johnson, she is the younger sister to Natalie Johnson. She was a loving wife of 45 years to the late Harry Koontz. She was the mother to 3 sons, Sean Harrison, Jason Lee, and Andrew Jordon. She was the grandmother to Kori Rose.

Donna Koontz was the glue that held the family together and looked after so many in the community. She spent the majority of her adult life at the side of her Harry going where the wind took them. They lived in Alaska for 17 years where Donna said some of their happiest years were spent. The family moved to Tennessee in 2000 and remains here today. The family attends and are members of White House First United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Koontz III; her father, Daniel Johnson; mother, Betty Lee Johnson; brother-in-law, Mike Putman; son, Erik Johnson Koontz; and niece Tunica Perosi. She is survived by her sister, Natalie Johnson; sister-in-law, Diana Putman; sister-in-law Debra (Franklin) Nicodemous; brother-in-law Ronald (Kim) Koontz; oldest son, Sean Koontz; middle son; youngest son; granddaughter, Kori Koontz; niece, Alexis Perosi; niece, Corine (Nathaniel) Toombs; nephew David Perosi; honorary grandsons (nephews), Kahym Jace Dunn and Luis Tapia, and several more nieces and nephews.
