Portland, TN - Ms. Judith Evelyn Surface, age 83 of Portland, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Judith was born on March 28, 1942 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Joseph Boswell and Evelyn Fiorentini.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Jeanette Boswell and Evelyn Fiorentini; sister, Betti Lou Pratt; and husband, William "Bill" Surface.

Ms. Judith Surface is survived by her son, William Surface II (Shelley); grandchildren, Claire Surface, William Surface III, Kayden Surface, Adalyn Surface, Ellianna Surface and Elise Surface; sisters, Rosemarie Harper, Billie Ann Williams, Becky Bridgett, and Mary Ponce (Preston); brothers, Joe Boswell (Mary) and Jimmy Boswell (Rita); and numerous nieces and nephews that she adored.

Judith was a devoted member of Portland Nazarene Church and used her gift of music to honor the Lord throughout her life. She spent her career serving and loving people as a nurse. Judith was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21st at 1:00 PM at Portland Nazarene Church with Bro. Matt Taylor Officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Old Fountain Head Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family at Portland Nazarene Church will be on Thursday, November 20th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday, November 21st from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
