Michael Louis Boyd, age 69, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, in San Antonio, Florida, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure.

Born on November 20, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Mike moved to Tennessee as a child, where he quickly developed a strong work ethic. By the age of 12, he was already working at various odd jobs, beginning a lifetime of dedication and drive. He started his career at Sealed Power in Franklin, Kentucky, and over the years, pursued a variety of entrepreneurial ventures. These included apartment maintenance, operating a landscaping business, building homes, and running a successful siding and window replacement company. Ultimately, he found his calling in HVAC, earning a reputation as a skilled craftsman who could fix nearly anything. He often did pro bono work for families in need, demonstrating his generosity and desire to help others. After years of hard work, Mike retired in 2022 and moved from Mooresville, Indiana, to San Antonio, Florida.

Mike's personality was as big as his heart. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation anywhere, captivating listeners with stories of his adventures. A member of Faith Baptist Church in Wesley Chapel, Florida, Mike's faith in the Lord guided him in everything he did. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and he loved them fiercely, ensuring they always felt his unconditional support and affection, particularly with his wife Linda.

Mike's zest for life shone brightly in all he pursued—whether fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, traveling, or staying active at the gym. Even in retirement, he was happiest when lending a hand, tackling projects, or helping others. His warmth, generosity, and larger-than-life presence left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Mike's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mike is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda Goebig Boyd, San Antonio, FL; son Michael (Patty) Boyd, Hendersonville, TN; daughters Michelle (Luke) Bilyeu, Lakeland, FL and Robyn (Chad) Thompson, Riverside, IL; grandchildren Damen Boyd, Madisen Boyd, Brandon Perry, Benjamin Perry, Mashalya Bilyeu, Charlie Thompson, Ella Thompson, Ava Thompson and Bryn Thompson; great-grandchildren Delilah, Delanie, Kayden, Carter, Hattie, Athena and Irene; brothers Randy (Reba) Boyd, Bowling Green, KY, Dale Boyd, Portland, TN, Joey (Kathy) Boyd, Portland, TN, Mark Boyd, Gallatin, TN; sisters Wanda (Rudi) Borgs, Franklin, IN, Judy (Rick) Brown, Portland, TN, Bonny (Chip) Carrier, Gallatin, TN, Betty (Hamid) Sodagar, Pam (Ron) Foriest, Kingston Springs, TN, Donna (Jim) McMillin, Evansville, IN, and Dottie (Mark) Young, Bowling Green, KY. Preceded in death by his father Gilbert Boyd, mother Dorthy Ausbrooks Boyd Johnson and brother Billy Boyd.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 11 AM at Mitchellville General Baptist Church, 603 Tennessee Hwy 259, Portland, TN 37148.

Memorial contributions may be made if desired to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association in Mike's name.
